The Garden of Earthly Delights is a famously enigmatic painting by Hieronymus Bosch which was well ahead of its time.

It has always fascinated me as an artist, so when the new AI text to image manipulation tools were surfacing in 2022 I decided to use the software to re-interpet the painting for the modern day.

I cut a high quality public domain scan of the original into 150 seperate squares. I then wrote a small poem about each of these squares and how it made me feel about the present day, then used these short poems as prompts along with the original image, to see what the machine came out with.

I then threaded these all back together to make one large evolving piece of work in the form of 4K digital video.
