I was supervising a team of designers and illustrators creating of the all the graphic and motion output for the iconic ex bus station turned underground bass venue, art gallery and Cantina in Leeds from 2019 to 2023.
The visuals I created helped create an atmosphere for too many names to list, from oldschool legends such as Goldie and Tim Reaper to the new wave of artists keeping the party alive like Yung Singh & SHERELLE.
Illustrator Hazy Jake and myself collaborated to create a projection mapped mural behind the DJ booth which featured Jake's Painting and a permenantly installed projection mapped loop of common old red visual motifs.
As an independent venue we faced many challenges - inflation and Covid drastically changed the way we had to work and the kind of resources available to us.
It's still going and the creative direction is now in the capable hands of Alex Kubis.
